Intern Diary: Sadie
As I approached the final semester of my college career, I was in search of an internship that would not only challenge me but also provide a fun and enriching experience. JMG PR, a company I had been following on Instagram, stood out with its strong online presence. When I saw an opening for a social media internship, it felt like an opportunity I couldn't resist.
On my first day, I was understandably nervous. However, the warm welcome from Jenna, my supervisor Alexandra, and the rest of the team quickly put me at ease. The team's dedication to fostering a positive company culture was evident, and their acceptance of making mistakes as part of the learning process was a comforting aspect of working at JMG.
While working at JMG, some of my highlights were conducting case studies to post on social media (my favorite one being how the NFL Leveraged Taylor Swift This Season), writing engaging content, and video editing.
You only realize how powerful social media is once you use it in business. I can't even begin to express how amazing my supervisor Alexandra was. Anytime I had a question, she would always be there to answer it and explain it in depth. She was so knowledgeable about everything in her field. The knowledge that she has passed on to me is invaluable and something I will use throughout my career in the future. One thing that I cannot thank Alexandra enough for is building up my confidence. With my career starting, I am well-equipped and confident in myself.
Daily "sip the tea" meetings and End of Day calls allowed me to connect with the company. I learned something valuable from each team member, even those in different departments.
Finally, our CEO, Jenna, was inspiring. Aspiring to start my own business one day, seeing how Jenna leads JMG PR was very insightful. She has created a work environment prioritizing employee well-being and making everyone feel valued and appreciated.
Nowadays, finding a company like JMG PR takes a lot of work. I will cherish my time at JMG PR throughout my career. I am proud of how far I have come and forever grateful for this opportunity.
